UCAS - School Context
At Copthall School, it is our mission to provide excellence in education for all. Copthall School is a non-denominational academy for girls aged 11-18, serving a multi-ethnic community. 75% of students have English as an Additional Language and 36% of the students in school are Pupil Premium. 29% of students at the school are eligible for Free School Meals, compared to the national figure of 13%. The school is approximately within the 80th percentile for social deprivation and is well above the national average, a characteristic more typical of an inner city school. It serves a rich and diverse community that encourages respect, equality for all, support and safety, aspiration and responsibility. The Sixth form offer both Academic and Vocational pathways, which include a range of A Levels and BTEC options. Currently on entry to Year 12, students have the opportunity to study three A Levels which are a mix of Linear and Modular subjects. The primary indicators for predicated grades are formal internal assessments and the Advanced Level Performance System (ALPS), in addition to the professional judgement of teaching staff.
