Students in years 7, 8 and 9 enjoyed a Black History Month presentation this week from the Museum of London. Three talented actors took the students on a journey focusing on different aspects of Black History in London. Students met a variety of individuals, each with their own story to tell. These included Ignatius Sancho, an ex-slave who educated himself and wrote books on poetry and music, Blair Peach, a London Secondary School teacher killed during an anti-racism demonstration in the 1970s and Doreen Lawrence, mother of murdered teenager Stephen. Some students were brave enough to sing and speak in front of the audience, well done to Ellie Jai in 8T, Fatemeh and Logaina in 8L, and Laya in 9A.
