Copthall @ Kenilworth Castle
Posted on: 28/09/2018
Last week, Year 11 GCSE History students enjoyed a trip to Kenilworth castle in Warwickshire.
The castle dates from the Norman era, but has been developed and re-built many times since. In fact, visits by Elizabeth 1st in the 1560s and 70s led to an expensive addition to the castle and a Tudor garden which has been re-created today.
The students will be studying the castle in greater detail for the site study element of their GCSE History course, so it was fantastic to actually visit it and see how the castle developed at first hand.
The students were brilliant, and the castle staff commented on how impressed they were by the students’ behaviour.
