Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge
Posted on: 28/09/2017Public Speaking!! Two words that usually bring a sense of dread to anyone. The year 10s embraced this feeling and totally smashed every barrier. 22 girls were invited to take part in the first part of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge - they were involved in a workshop and received training on public speaking, and how to succeed at it. All 22 students prepared speeches to present in the final of the day, with only 4 spaces available to go through to the next round, tensions were running high! Subjects presented ranged from body image, to the importance of books. A fantastic array!
We selected 6 students, as 4 places didn't seem enough!
Alicia 10A - Positivity and its Power.
Molly 10L - The Importance of Books
Devika 10T - Extremism
Djamila 10A - Languages
Sharon 10L - Miracles
Lily Walker 10A - People vs Vegetable!
They now go through to the next round, where we choose 1 student to go to the finals!
