Art Textiles trip to see the Christian Dior Exhibition at the V&A
Posted on: 19/03/2019On Monday 4th March Mrs Graves took a her Y11 GCSE Textiles and the Y12 and 13 Art and Textiles classes to the V&A Museum to see the Christian Dior Exhibition. It is an amazing and beautifully curated exhibition showcasing Dior’s fabulous designs, haute couture dresses and gowns. The exhibition finishes in a large ballroom with his ball gowns on show. Many “selfies” were taken at this point with the dress they would most like to wear to their grad ball!
Students also had an opportunity to see some of the other displays at the V&A to further support research and critical studies for their GCSE exam theme of “Reflections”. They have come back with lots of photos and ideas which will really help them with their first hand research and the development of practical studies back in school.
The students thoroughly enjoyed both the exhibition and looking around the V&A. They were a real credit to the school in both their attitude and behaviour and in fact one of the museum’s staff commented on how well behaved our students were! T
Many thanks to Lisa Burns who accompanied me on the trip.
